Congratulations to our Graduate Student Paper Prize winner !!
The DVMA Paper Prize is awarded annually to a graduate student for a written project, such as a conference paper, thesis or dissertation chapter or other similar work, on the basis of its quality, originality, and clarity of scholarship. The amount of the award is $200, and the winner will be invited to present the work at a future DVMA meeting.
This year's deserving winner is Gabrielle Lewis Parkin, PhD candidate in English, University of Delaware, for her paper "White Clothes, Tears, and Livery in the Book of Margery Kempe," which is chapter 4 of her dissertation "The Memory of Things: What Objects Mean in Late Medieval English Writing." Brie will read part of this paper at the February DVMA meeting at Rutgers University-Camden.
